If you really want to embrace Faith Baptist as your home and have it become your church family, you will find it much easier if you connect with an ABF. For the most part, this is where you will get to know people and they will get to know you, where you will be a help to people and they will be a help to you, and where you will serve others together. Our ABFs meet on each Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. If you come a few minutes early, one of our Greeters will be glad to show you where to go. Below you will find a list of ABFs.
Ladies of Faith ABF – Ladies only
Connecting Point ABF – 20 to early 40’s
Faithful Followers ABF – 40 to mid 50’s
J.O.Y. ABF – 55 & up
Regarding the early church, one version renders Acts 2:42 this way…"They met constantly to hear the apostles teach, and to share the common life, and break bread and to pray." At Faith Baptist, “sharing the common life” we have together in Jesus Christ is done largely through our ABFs. One pastor’s definition of an ABF is that “it is a group or community of people committed to know and apply the Word together in a caring fellowship, with organization to bring about pastoral care, discipleship and outreach – usually divided by age groupings so there is natural affinity and strong bonding.”
One church describes their ABFs as “communities [which] provide a warm and casual environment for newcomers to meet people… These midsize groups of 15 to 90 people function more like adult ‘youth groups’ as they participate together in a variety of group activities. Weekly meetings include casual fellowship around coffee and treats, group announcements, a prayer and care time, testimonies, and usually lots of laughter! Active learning through interactive Bible teaching is also a core element of a group meeting. Groups also do periodic outside social activities, service projects and outreaches.” |
