Senior Pastor Job Description

Thomas’ experiences on his journey to serving Jesus Christ helps him relate to today’s youth.  His parents decided to become serious about attending church during Thomas’ pre-teen and teen years.  Although outwardly Thomas appeared to be a child of God, he never really put his total faith in Christ.  Eventually, when he was old enough to make his own decisions, he lived his live as he pleased, and drifted away from God.  When he was 25 years old, he was befriended by a pastor that took an interest in him, and invited Thomas out for a meal.  After developing a friendship, the pastor shared with him the gospel of Jesus Christ, which lead to Thomas to putting his faith in Christ, and accepting Jesus as his personal Savior.(top)  

Pastor Thomas knew immediately that Christ was going to use him for His ministry, although he wasn't’t sure in what capacity.   He participated in many mission trips, which strengthened his commitment to go into the ministry.  Toward this effort, Thomas recently received his degree in Biblical Studies from Moody Bible Institute. In September, 2007, he was appointed Pastor of Student Ministries by Faith Baptist.

Pastor Thomas is responsible for the children and student youth programs at Faith.  These programs have four common goals:

1. To help the youth of Faith to establish a pure and ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ, by providing solid biblical teachings and materials;.
2. Encourage the youth to be “passionate followers of Jesus”; 
3. To equip the youth with tools for leading others to Christ, and
4. Teach the youth at Faith to lift up and encourage other Christians.(top)

Pastor Thomas and his wife Donna have two daughters, Kenzie and Paige.

Pastor Thomas’s ministry passion is changing lives for the better. The bible verse he reminds himself of most often is as follows:

“Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice – alive, holy and pleasing to God - which is your reasonable service.  Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God – what is good and well-pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:1-2 NIV

Through the ministries of Faith Baptist Church, Lizzette received Jesus Christ as her Savior on May 18, 2005.   She and her family joined Faith Baptist in July, 2005.  Lizzette’s testimony is a source of joy for the entire church family.

As Church Secretary, Lizzette is responsible for overseeing all activities of the church office.   She is proficient in MS Office, and fluent in both English and Spanish.  Lizzette came to Faith with a great deal of work experience in the hospitality and travel fields. She has proven to be a great asset to the Faith ministry team.

Together, Lizzette and her husband, Travis, have four children, Brittany, Brianna, Ryan and Amanda.(top)
